Amelia Mae Steen

Amelia Mae Steen, 93, a beloved matriarch, was born on January 21, 1931, in Calhoun County, Mississippi. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce, Mississippi. Her life was marked by kindness, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Amelia is survived by her cherished sons, Sammie Steen and Larry Steen, as well as her loving daughters, Bobby Nell Jones and Dorothy Anderson. Throughout her life, Amelia was a source of strength and support for her family, instilling in them the values of love, hard work, and togetherness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Moore and Earsell Pearson, who played pivotal roles in shaping the woman she became. Their guidance and love were foundational in Amelia's life, and they are now reunited with her in spirit.

The community is invited to celebrate Amelia’s life with visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 138 E Washington St, Bruce, MS. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, August 24, 2024, beginning at 12:00 PM at the Jackson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, situated at 103 Evers Drive, Bruce, MS.

Amelia Mae Steen will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
