Andrew Gates, Sr.

Andrew Gates, Sr., 90, a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11 2024, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Born on August 17, 1934, in Monroe County, Mississippi, Andrew lived a life filled with dedication, love, and service to others.

He is survived by his beloved son, Andrew Gates, Jr., who carries forward his father’s legacy with pride. Andrew’s life was deeply influenced by the values instilled in him by his parents, Jessie Gates and Nancy Blanchard, both of whom have preceded him in death. Their teachings and nurturing shaped Andrew into the compassionate and kind-hearted person he became.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday,  October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service, which will take place beginning at 11:00 AM. Both events will be held at the Ebernezer Missionary Baptist Church located at 20257 MS Hwy 8 West, Aberdeen, MS 39730.

Andrew Gates will be remembered for his warm presence, unwavering support for his family, and his commitment to his community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will endure through those who knew and loved him.
