Arthur Morgan, Jr.

It is with deepest sympathy we announce the passing of Mr. Arthur Morgan, Jr .of Amory, MS on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS at the age of 56.  

Arthur was born in Amory on April 26, 1967. He was a graduate of Amory High School and he attended Itawamba Community College for a brief period. Arthur worked mostly in Amory and the surrounding areas. Arthur was a gregarious individual who wore a big smile and loved to talk. He loved the sport of fishing and was a member of the Masonic Organization. Arthur was a member of Rose of Sharon C.O.G.I.C for most of his life, but later joined Faithful City C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of his uncle, Elder Melvin Morgan

Arthur was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Heard and his grandparents, JD and Pearlie Morgan, and Billy and Annie Gilleylen.

Arthur is survived by his parents, Norma Morgan and Arthur Gilleylen, his children, Alexis, Arleshia, April and Arthur Morgan III, Brandon Meadows and Christopher Heard, his siblings, Mary Morgan, Anthony Morgan (Dawn), Jacqueline Morgan-Edwards (Lamar), Madrina Morgan, Sandra Gilleylen-Hughes (Emil), and Kareem Gilleylen (Pam)

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at United Memorial Gardens in Amory, MS at 1:00 p.m.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service
