Christine Jones was born on June 7,1935 to the late Monroe and Bular Jones. Christine was born and raised in Aberdeen, MS. Where she attended school. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Ebernezer Baptist Church. She moved to Chicago at the age of 18 where she joined in holy matrimony with Tommy Franklin,Sr. and became Christine Franklin.
Outside of Christine being a family woman she was an extended mother to many more than her own. Her door was always open to those in need, and if she was able to provide for anyone she would.
Although Christine moved from Mississippi she still kept her fond memories of her hometown in her heart and presence. whenever you walked in her home you were bound to see everlasting memories of Aberdeen, Mississippi on her wall, and through her photo album.
Christine had many things, she enjoyed doing. she spent many of her days fishing, playing cards, and enjoying her family. Her good home cooked soulfood meals was her specialty.
She had a big since of humor, and a distinctive voice that everyone knew was her. She always kept a smile on her face, even in her times of hurt and sorrow.
Christine was a womas with class, dignity and respect, because she practiced good character.
God saw her tired when a cure was not meant to be. He closed his arms around, her and whispered. My child come to me."
Christine was preceded in death by both of her parents, two sons; Tommy Franklin, Jr and Daniel E. Franklin, two broters; Roosevelt and Monroe Jones; Three sisters,Laureen Poe and Annie Lee and Linda Jones and many other close relatives. she leaves to cherish her memories with her children; Russell Franklin(Linda) Francine Franklin, Dennis Franklin, David Franklin, Michelle Franklin and Timothy Franklin(Nikita). Her sisters; Vampadale Jones-Quinn(Rush), Bessie Lee Jones, and Dorothy Mae Jones. Her brothers; Joe Lewis Jones and Cleveland Jones. 15 grandchildren , one whom preceded her in death, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, neices, nephews, relatives and friends. Christine had close friends in her life and she was forever grateful for each and everyone of them.
