Demeka's Visitation  will be held on October 6, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS.

Demeka's funeral service will be held on October 7, 2023, at Mays Chapel MB Church in Pittsboro, Mississippi. The service will commence at 11:00 AM and will be a cherished opportunity for family and friends to pay their final respects to this remarkable woman. Demeka Rena Moore was a devoted wife to Pastor Lee Moore and a loving mother to her sons Jamarius Gates, Caleb Moore, Bryson Moore, and daughters Kalajaih Moore, Zariyia Moore and Kaliyah Herman. She treasured her role as a mother above all else and poured her heart into raising her children with love and guidance.

Born to Jimmy Gates and Deborah Simmons-Gates in Houston, Mississippi, Demeka had a nurturing spirit from an early age. Her parents instilled in her the values of kindness and empathy that she carried throughout her life. As the eldest sister to Tez Gates and Seletha Walker, Demeka showed unwavering support and care for her siblings.
