Dorothy Jean Zinn,71, born on November 4, 1953, in Bruce, Calhoun County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the West Point Community Living Center in West Point, Mississippi. She was a beloved figure to all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
Dorothy was a devoted mother to her son, Bobby Zinn. She also cherished her close relationships with her brothers: John Earl Zinn, John Wayne Zinn, and Leon Zinn, as well as her sister, Dora Mae Crawford. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy in both the simple and the significant moments spent together, whether it be through shared laughter or special celebrations.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents: John Wesley Zinn (Father) and Josie Buchanan ~ Zinn (Mother); 1 son, Calvin Keith Zinn: as well as her brothers W.C. Zinn, Billy Joe Zinn (Neal), William Zinn, and William Zinn (Q.T.). She was also predeceased by her sisters, Martha Nell Zinn (Willie Ray Griffin) and Leola Gladney (Grady Gladney). Though they have departed, their memories and the impact they had on her life will forever be cherished.
An enthusiastic spirit, Dorothy passionately engaged in many interests that enriched her life. She loved listening to music, rooting for her favorite basketball teams, and had a deep-seated desire to travel and explore the world. Dancing brought her immense joy, and she delighted in spending quality time with her family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Visitation for Dorothy Zinn will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jackson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 103 Evers Drive in Bruce, MS, 38915. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 1:00 PM, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and remember a remarkable woman.
Dorothy Zinn's vibrant spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her surviving family, and all who were fortunate enough to know her will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
