Emma Jean Balford

Emma Jean Balford, 73,  a beloved member of the community, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS. She was born on January 7, 1951, in Calhoun County, MS.

Emma will be remembered fondly by her surviving family: her loving son Kenny Ray Balford; devoted daughters Peggy Balford and Wendy Balford; caring brother David Woodard; and sisters Annie Woodard and Shirley Woodard.

She is now reunited with her late father, Leroy Woodard, and mother, Lena Mae Pratt, in eternal peace.

The visitation and funeral service to honor and celebrate Emma's life will be held at the Midway Missionary Baptist Church in Vardaman, MS. The visitation is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 16th starting at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Emma J. Balford's kindness and warmth touched the lives of many. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
