Exie Bernard Blair, Jr.

Exie Bernard Blair, Jr., 70,  a cherished member of the Amory, Mississippi community, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Born on December 14, 1953, in Amory - Monroe County - MS, he made a lasting impact on all who knew him throughout his life.

Exie was a dedicated family man and a beloved husband to his wife, Bessie Mae Moore - Blair. Together, they built a life filled with love and memorable moments. His devotion as a father was evident in his nurturing relationship with his daughter, Chastity Yashika Terry. Exie's strength and guidance will forever resonate in the lives of his family members.

He is also survived by his cherished mother, Essie Mae Gilleylen - Barnes, whose unwavering support and love were a source of strength throughout Exie’s life. He shared a close bond with his siblings: brothers Willie Akins, David Blair, and Rome Barnes, and sisters Marilyn Barnes and Renee Fields. Each of them shared countless cherished memories with Exie, and he will be deeply missed by them.

Exie was predeceased by his father, Exie Bernard Blair, Sr., and his legacy lives on through his family and friends, who remember him with love and admiration.

The community is invited to honor Exie's life and contributions during a visitation on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home located at 807 108th St., Amory, MS. A Celebration of Life service will be held the following day, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Carter's Chapel Church Of The Living God, beginning at 1:00 PM.

As we reflect on Exie's life, let us celebrate his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
