Geams Earl Burns, 91, a cherished member of the community, was born on July 17, 1933, in Calhoun City, Calhoun County, Mississippi. He lived a full and rewarding life until his peaceful passing on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce, Mississippi.
Geams was known for his warmth and kindness, qualities that drew people to him throughout his life. His family, a testament to his love and dedication, includes his beloved daughters: Ethel Edmond, Rita Bray, Glenda Burns, Betty Burns, Allean Wiggins, and Rachel McIntosh. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Burns. Geams was predeceased by his parents, Earnest Burns, Sr. and Natha Gordon-Burns, whose values and teachings shaped the man he became.
In honor of his life and the impact he made on those around him, a visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Double Springs Missionary Baptist Church, located at 574 Double Springs Road, Slate Springs, Mississippi, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 AM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together to share memories, celebrate his achievements, and reflect on the legacy he leaves behind.
Geams Earl Burns will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
