H. Leona (Lee) Harris

H. Leona (Lee) Harris was born on May 27, 1940, and she  passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the age of 84 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Amory, MS. Lee is survived by her Brother, Ron (Jackie) Hayes; Sister, Doris Hayes; 6 Children by marriage; Grandson, Jason (Patricia) Eggers; 10 Grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death  by her husband: Edward E. Harris: Daughter: Terri Eggers; Sister: Laura Brentlinger; Parents: Leo and Helen Rzechula; and a Grandchild: Robert Hackenburg.

Lee was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She was a proud graduate of Steinmetz High School and frequently attended reunions. Lee worked and was retired from Argonne Labs, where she had worked as a secretary.

Lee and Ed were avid travelers, boaters, and loved to scuba dive. They took up residence in Aberdeen, Mississippi while stopping for repairs on their house boat; they loved it so much, they stayed.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM  on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 216 Hwy 25 South, Aberdeen, MS 39730. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Aberdeen, MS 39730.
