J Z Pearson

J Z Pearson, 78, a cherished member of the Calhoun City community, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City, Mississippi. Born on November 6, 1946, in Calhoun County, MS, he filled his years with love, commitment, and a deep dedication to his family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ella Edmond Pearson, as well as his sons, Demetrius Pearson and Steve Pearson, and his daughter, Monique Pearson. J Z was also a loving brother to Dudley Lewis Pearson, and he shared a special bond with his sisters: Mag Hamilton, Jannie Yates, Bobbie Allen, Debra Pittman, Ora Jean Porter, and Shelia Herrod.

J Z's parents, Douglas Pearson and Ophelia Burson-Pearson, predeceased him. His life was an embodiment of strength and love for his family, which will continue to carry his legacy forward.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor on Saturday, February 8, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 11 County Road 361, Calhoun City, MS 38916. This gathering will provide family and friends an opportunity to reflect on the memories shared and the impact he had on their lives.

J Z Pearson will be greatly missed but will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
