James Cool Blackman, 60,  born on April 24, 1964, in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Hamilton, Mississippi. He is remembered as a compassionate and devoted individual whose life impacted those around him in profound ways.

James was the beloved husband of Colette Thomas-Blackman, and together they nurtured a loving family. He is survived by his cherished Sons: James Blackmon (Kyishonna), Jashaun Blackmon, and Javon Blackmon (Quaneisha), & his Grandchildren: Jayla, Jalaeyah, Jazz, Laila, Ermias, Eryss, Alexsiya; Stepchildren: Damian, Melanie, Alisa, and David. Brother, Anthony Blackmon, and his Sisters, Linda Floyd, Nadine Smith, Kimberly Williams, and Pam Williams. They fondly remember the joy and laughter he brought into their lives.

James was preceded in death by his father, Coleman Blackman, and his mother, Christine Hooker. Their love laid the foundation for the family values he upheld throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to honor James during a Visitation on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. Both services will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 216 Hwy 25 South, PO Box 129, Aberdeen, MS 39730.

The warmth and love that James Cool Blackman shared with his family and friends will be forever cherished and remembered. His spirit continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
