Interment: Mt Joy Cemetery(Jones Cemetery), Grenada, MS.

Life began for Brother James Albert Thomas on February 2, 1933 in Calhoun County. He departed this life on December 27, 2011 at the age of 78.

Brother Thomas was the son of the late Randolph and Gensie Thomas of Vardaman, MS.

He was a construction worker by trade and was employed by McCormick Construction Company for many years. He was a United Stated Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He believed in working hard and continued to do so until his health failed.

Brother Thomas was a member of Kyles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and he attended faithfully until hi health failed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of fifty-five years, Georgia Mae Thomas; four brothers, Sam Thomas, Randolph Thomas,Jr., Ever Lee Thomas and L.C. Thomas; two sisters, Elizabeth Stovall and Georgia Mae Roseman; two children, Lisa Ann Thomas and Georgia Ann Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his daughters, Birdia Buntyn (Elder Rick) of Jackson, TN, Rosemary Gilmore and Katherine Thomas, both of Erie, PA; his sons Elder Albert Thomas(Mary) Pastor John Evert Thomas(Kelly), Danny Thomas, all of Erie, PA., Stephon Thomas of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Catherine Smith of Jackson,MS; twenty-one grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to cherish a very special friend of twenty-seven years, MS Pearlean Willis, whom he loved very dearly.
