John Edward Franks

John Edward Franks, 81, a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Aberdeen, Mississippi.  Born on May 3, 1943, in Mississippi, John lived a life marked by dedication and hard work, particularly in the manufacturing sector at Conoco, where he made a significant impact during his career.

John is survived by his two beloved daughters, Cassey Lee Holliday, and Felicia A. Cockrell, who carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. He also leaves behind his brothers Charles Franks and Freddie B. (Lizzie) Franks, as well as his sisters Anna Elizabeth Woods, Shirley (Robert) Ellis, Emma Franks, and Bonnie Jernigan. Each of them shared a unique bond with John, filled with memories of laughter and support throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Franklin Franks, Sr., and Josephine Young Franks, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. John also mourned the loss of his brother Franklin Franks, Jr., and his sister Clementine M. Driver, reflecting the deep connections he cherished within his family.

A visitation to honor John's life will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Mississippi. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 12:00 PM on the same day, also at Belle Memorial Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.

John Edward Franks will be remembered for his steadfast commitment to his family and his contributions to his community, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire many for years to come.
