Julia Ann Brown, 72, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home in Pontotoc.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 2 pm at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens-Calhoun City, MS
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 1-2 pm at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens-Calhoun City, MS

Our precious Bigmama has gone to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home in Algoma surrounded by her loving family.
Julia Ann Bratton Brown was born to John and Mozell Morgan Bratton on August 19, 1947. She was a graduate of Calhoun City High School and married the love of her life J. W. Brown the same year. They spent 45 wonderful years together before his death in 2010.
She worked as an elementary school teacher assistant in both TN and MS until her retirement in 1996 with the blessing of grandchildren. She also sold Avon, was a girl scout leader and enjoyed spending time with her family and playing the piano and singing.
She was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS where she played the organ.
She is survived by her son James (Tiffany)Brown, her daughter Rachel (Ronnie) Self, her grandchildren Morgan (Blake) Griffin, Tracy (Kyle Holloway) Self, Brian Self and Addie Brown, and one great granchild, Tessa Shay Griffin all of Pontotoc. She was also survived by her sister Janie Chandler of Eupora, MS and sister-in-law Beth Bratton of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a granddaughter Amber Brown, her sisters Johnnie Baker and Grace Hicks and their brother James Morgan Bratton.
Graveside services will be a Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City.
Pallbearers are Brian Self, Blake Griffin, Kyle Holloway, John Michael Baker, Bubba Houser and Sammy Earnest.
Honorary Pallbearers are Terry Self, Sam Self, Tom Dubose and Eric Dubose.
