Julia Ann McKissick, 63, born on September 1, 1960, peacefully passed away on November 20, 2023, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was a beloved daughter of the late Shannon Lee McKissick, Sr. and Catherine Knowles. Julia is also preceded in death by five sisters: Lillie B. Ward, Archie Pearl Griffin, Martha Alice Williams, Earline W. Smith, and Joyce Ann Moore; five brothers: Willie James Williams, Andrew Lee Thompson, Shannon Lee McKissick, Jr., Melvin McKissick, and Larry McKissick.
Julia was a remarkable woman who impacted the lives of numerous individuals around her. Her genuine kindness and compassionate nature made her a cherished friend to many.
Throughout her life, Julia exemplified unwavering strength and resilience. She faced challenges with grace and courage, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Julia's devotion and love extended not only to her family but also to her sons, Cedrick Earl McKissick and Fredrick McKissick. She cherished their bond deeply and took immense pride in watching them grow into the incredible sons they are today. Julia's nurturing spirit and unwavering support will continue to guide Cedrick and Fredrick as they carry her memory in their hearts. She leaves seven grandchildren: Aquria Strong, Fredrick McKissick, Jr., Kadarius Strong, Aribria Strong, Anaree Strong, Gracie Smith, and Zirin Young.
Julia also leaves behind to cherish her memories, three sisters: Rena Pennington, Dolly McKissick, and Sharon (Terrel) James.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation service scheduled on Sunday, November 26th, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home located at 216 Hwy 25 South, PO Box 129, Aberdeen, Mississippi, 39730.
A funeral service to celebrate Julia's extraordinary life will be held on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at Saint Paul Holy Ghost Deliverance Church, situated at 50684 Old Hwy 25, Aberdeen, Mississippi, 39730. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
Julia Ann McKissick's incredible spirit and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
