Lee Willie Holmes

 Lee Willie Holmes, 91, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend was born on December 28, 1932, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. He departed from this world on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

Lee Willie Holmes leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished many. In his journey through life, he was guided into the loving presence of his late father: Dilworth Holmes and mother: Lee Anna Neely.

Among those who will dearly miss Lee Willie Holmes are his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his 6 sons: Ira Holmes, Billy Holmes, James Holmes, Willie Holmes, J.B. Holmes, and Greg Posley. His memory will also be carried on by his 7 daughters: Dorothy Watkins, Rose Mary Holmes, Brenda Shotwell, Minnie Holmes, Maggie Robertson, Thelma Armstrong, and Peggy Hunter.

In the embrace of family and close connections were Lee Willie's 4 brothers: Wavy C. Holmes, Nathaniel Holmes, A.J. Holmes, and Ellis Holmes; along with 1 sister Lou Ester White.

A visitation to honor Lee Willie Holmes will take place at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland on Saturday,  August 3rd, 2024 at 11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Lee Willie Holmes will always be remembered for the love he shared with those around him and the joy he brought into their lives. May his spirit find peace in its eternal journey beyond this world.
