Lora Ann "Pookie" Griffis

Lora Ann "Pookie" Griffis, 55, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 6, 2023, at the AMG Specialty Hospital in Batesville, MS. She was born on March 22, 1968, in Houston, Chickasaw County, MS. Lora's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Lora's magnetic presence and warm smile touched the lives of many. Her joyful spirit and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She had an unwavering ability to uplift others with her kind words and genuine care.

Lora was a devoted mother to her two sons, Brandon Griffis and Antonio Griffis; and her daughter, Veronica Griffis. She poured her heart into raising them and imparted them with the values of love, kindness, and perseverance. Lora's children were the pride and joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to being a loving mother, Lora valued the importance of family bonds. She found comfort in the company of her father Tom Griffis; mother Dollie Gordon-Griffis; brothers Michael Griffis and Milton Cleo Griffis; sister Janice Thomas; and a wide circle of extended family members. Lora shared a special bond with each member of her family and treasured the time they spent together.

Lora lived a life filled with zest for adventure and curiosity for the world around her. She had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and was always seeking new experiences. 

Friends knew Lora as a pillar of strength and a trusted confidante. She possessed an uncanny ability to listen attentively, offering guidance and support whenever it was needed. Her loyalty and compassion were unwavering, making her a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation will be held in honor of Lora Ann Griffis on  Friday, November 17, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, MS. Friends and family will have an opportunity to pay their respects and share memories of Lora during this solemn occasion.

A funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem MB Church in Houston, MS. It will be a time for loved ones to come together and celebrate the beautiful life that Lora lived. We will find solace in sharing stories of her immense impact on our lives and finding comfort in each other's presence.

Lora Ann Griffis touched the hearts of many throughout her lifetime. Though we mourn her passing deeply, we take solace in knowing that she leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her children, family, friends, and all those she inspired with her love and kindness. May her soul find eternal peace as we hold onto the memories of her vibrant spirit forevermore.
