Mary Louise Carothers- McMillian

Mary Louise Carothers-McMillian was a loving wife, devoted mother, and faithful sister who left us on April 27th, 2023, while at North MS Medical Center. With her passing, we all lost a remarkable person whose bright smile will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary was born on December 13th, 1958, in Prairie, MS to her parents Percy and Hazel Carothers. She grew up surrounded by her five sisters and four brothers whom she loved dearly. Mary graduated from school and began working as a bus driver for Aberdeen High School where she put years of service.

Mary had a pleasant personality, which endeared her to everyone she met. Her devotion to her family especially her loving husband Roy McMillian was evident throughout their marriage. She was an affectionate mother to Tony McMillian (son), Denise Payne (daughter), Lisa McCoy(Eric) (daughter), Crystal McMillian (daughter), and their spouses who survive her loss.

Mary enjoyed gardening and often spent long hours tending to the flowers in front of her home. She also found solace in attending church every Sunday where she served as an active member of the congregation.

The family invites friends and colleagues to celebrate Mary's life at two events. On May 5th, 2023 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., a Visitation service will take place at Belle Memorial Funeral Home located at 216 Hwy 25 South PO Box 129 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. A funeral service in honor of Mary's life is scheduled for May 6th, 2023 at 12 p.m., taking place at Aberdeen High School Gymnasium located at 205 Hwy 145 in Aberdeen Mississippi.

Mary Louise Carothers-McMillian will always hold a special place in our hearts; we will fondly remember the beautiful moments she shared with us all. Her beautiful spirit and loving personality will be missed by everyone who knew her.
