Meldia Ann Stewart, 59, affectionately known as "Millie," has left a profound mark on our hearts and souls. She departed this earthly realm on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Meldia's life began on June 20, 1964, in the city of Aberdeen in Monroe County. Her bright spirit and undeniable charisma blessed everyone she encountered.
With heavy hearts, we gather to honor and celebrate Meldia's extraordinary life. The visitation service will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Friends, family, and acquaintances are welcome to pay their respects and bid farewell to this remarkable soul.
On Saturday, December 2, 2023, the Homegoing Service will take place at Belle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen, MS beginning at 12:00 PM noon. During this solemn occasion, we will reflect upon Meldia's unparalleled impact on both our lives and the community she held dear. Her memory will forever shine brightly as we gather to share stories of her kindness, warmth, and unconditional love.
Meldia's presence was a beacon of hope for her cherished family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Willie B. Stewart Sr. and her mother Mary Lee Scott—two individuals who nurtured her into the incredible woman she became. Meldia was also preceded in death by her only daughter, Calandria Gneen Stewart; and one brother: Torrance Lamar Stewart.
Meldia's legacy will live on through her son Tyson Oneal (Latoya) Stewart.
In addition to her immediate family members who mourn her passing dearly, Meldia leaves behind a host of beloved siblings who have been profoundly impacted by her unwavering love and support. Her brothers: Mayor Charles (Rhonda) Scott, Willie B. (Shelia) Stewart Jr., Melvin (Julie) Stewart, James Earl (Betty) Stewart, and Christopher (Patricia)Stewart stand together during this time of immense grief. Dr. Denizela' Renee Dorsey, Meldia's dear sister, will forever cherish the bond they shared. Meldia also leaves to cherish her loving memories, two grandchildren, Tamiya Stewart and Jasmine Stewart.
Meldia's love for life permeated every aspect of her being. She saw beauty in the simplest of moments and had an uncanny ability to brighten even the darkest of days. Her radiance was contagious, and it spread like wildfire through the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Meldia's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, as we gather to remember and celebrate her remarkable life, let our grief intertwine with gratitude for having been touched by such an extraordinary soul. May her spirit continue to guide us towards kindness, compassion, and a genuine love for others.
