Oliver "Tojo" Davis, 65, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the home of his brother, Excell. A native of Itawamba County, he was born on August 31, 1946 to Excell and Shula (Cowley) Davis. He accepted Jesus Christ at his Lord and Savior at an early age.
He was a former employee of Gibson Corrugated of Tupelo, MS for over fifteen years. He loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He also loved sports, baseball, football and basketball.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: One brother, Excell (Gwen) of Fulton; four sisters, Frances (Don) Young and Delois (Oliver) Shumpert, both of Fulton, Carnell Sanders and Mary Randolf of Tupelo; he leaves many nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish his memory. He was lovingly known as Papaw to Alex Trice. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bobbi Jean Watkins; three nephews, Douglas Shumpert, Kenny and Eddie; his caregivers from Fulton Home Care, Nurse Bricy; and from Hospice, nurses Thomas and Tina; his sister-in-law, Gwen Davis; and also Mary Davis.
