Q C Townes Sr., 78, a beloved father and cherished member of the Aberdeen community, passed away peacefully at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS, on Thursday, August 29, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1945, in Aberdeen, Monroe County, MS, he was the son of the late Booker T. Townsend and Dessie Heard.
Q C was a proud father, leaving behind his loving sons, Charles Hodges, Q C Townes, Jr., and Jentry Townes as well as his devoted daughters, Mary Ann Townes, Irene Townes Smith, Latrenie Eades, Patrice Townes, and Sarah Townes. He nurtured his family with love and guidance, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
His beloved wife, Mary Hodges, predeceased him, leaving a legacy of love and devotion that is remembered fondly by his family.
A visitation in honor of Q C Townes will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home located at 216 Hwy 25 South, PO Box 129, Aberdeen, MS, 39730.
A Celebration of Life will follow on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Zion Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 295 County Road 182, Okolona, MS, 38860, starting at 2:00 PM.
He will then be laid to rest during a burial service on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 22094 US HWY 45 North, Aberdeen, MS, 39730, at 11:00 AM.
Q C Townes will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
