Richard Lee Young was born April 10,1945 to the late Herbert Young and Minnie Hodges Young in Prairie, MS. He was full of life and had his way to make everyone smile if you ever came in contact with him. He was a long-time employee of Monroe Kut until his recent retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories a life partner/friend and the mother of his children Mary Helen Ward. He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters; Connie Ward Hodges (Fred) of Aberdeen,MS; Contessa Ward Fields (Chris) of Oxford, MS; and Contrena Ward of Tupelo, MS; Seven sons; James Ward of Pensacola, FL; Larry Ward, Ron Ward, Chris Walker(Vegetta), Terrell Ward, Onassis Ward and Mario Ward, all of Aberdeen, MS; Four brothers; Herbert and John Earl Young of MIchigan City, IN; Henry Young, of Aberdeen,MS and Lindsey Randle of Prairie,MS; Two sisters; Cathy Stevison of Indianapolis,IN; and Lucy Jean Holt(Greg)of Washington, DC. A special aunt, Martha McMillian, of Prairie,MS. A special momma Virgie Dell Rodgers of Aberdeen,MS. Fourteen granchildren to include Rondarrian, Richard "Lil Richard", and Marcia Kelly", six step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Young and three sisters, Ethel Nixon, Mary Bell Hunter and Willa Young.
