Rosie Lee Thomas, 86, born on November 15,1937, in Lee, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Pontotoc Health & Rehabilitation Center in Pontotoc, MS.
Rosie was a cherished daughter of Will and Mary Thomas. She grew up alongside her sisters Bertha Scott and Lizzie Cherry Dandridge, as well as her brothers Willie B. Thomas, A.C. Thomas, Russell Kirk, Ozell Brown, and Grandra Kirk. Rosie's parents, one son, and siblings have preceded her in death.
Throughout her life, Rosie was known for her caring nature and kind-heartedness. Her warm spirit touched the lives of many. She leaves behind countless cherished memories to be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her immediate family members, Rosie touched the lives of many others who considered her part of their own. Among these are her niece Bonnette Cherry Holesome and nephews James Lee Cherry, Henry Cherry, Pastor Donnell Cherry, and Thomas Cherry. Rosie found joy in nurturing these relationships and was respected and loved by all.
Friends and family will gather to honor and remember Rosie Lee Thomas during two special events at the Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Ecru. The first event is a visitation which will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:30 PM. This will provide an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects and support one another during this challenging time.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday, January 6th starting at 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together and celebrate Rosie's life. During this time, her impact on the community and the love she shared will be commemorated.
Rosie Lee Thomas will be remembered as a compassionate and caring individual who brought light into the lives of those around her. Her kindness, love, and wonderful memories will forever remain in the hearts of her surviving family members and friends. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
