Stella Mae Swing, 74, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in her hometown of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Born on January 18, 1951, in Aberdeen - Monroe County - MS, she was a lifelong resident of the area, where her roots ran deep and her community ties were strong.
Stella was known for her warm spirit and unwavering kindness. A devoted wife to Willie L. Swing, she cherished their partnership and built a life of love and laughter. As a mother, Stella took immense pride in raising her two sons, Brian Thompson and Charles Courtney Thompson. She was a guiding light in their lives, teaching them the values of compassion, hard work, and the importance of family.
In her role as a sister, Stella's love was felt by Larry Ivy and Anthony Ivy, as well as her sisters Cora Devauld, Annie Ivy, and Berniece Randle. The bonds shared among the siblings were strengthened through countless memories and shared experiences throughout their lives.
Stella is remembered not only for her family connections but also for the legacy of love and warmth she leaves behind. Her parents, Odell Langston and Mary Whitfield-Langston, preceded her in death, but Stella carried their spirit with her in everything she did.
A visitation to honor Stella will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at Daniel Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM.
Stella Mae Swing will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will continue to inspire those she left behind.
