Tommy Gene Clay, Sr., 88, affectionately known as "Tator," was born on April 8, 1936, in Nettleton, Monroe County, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo Mississippi. Tommy touched the lives of many during his 88 years and will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Tom's legacy lives on through his children, who cherish the memories they created together. He is survived by his son, George Clay, and his daughters, Annie Ruth Hughes, Diane Clay, and Tammy Clay. Each of them carries forward the warmth of his spirit and the lessons he imparted throughout his life.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay and Annie Elliot. Their love and guidance shaped the man he became, and their memory will always be a part of his story.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Tommy's memory on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Nettleton, Mississippi. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.. Friends and family are invited to join together to celebrate a life well-lived and to share in the joy of the memories that he leaves behind.
