Willie Ella "Julie" Spratt, 100, passed away on December 25, 2020 at Monroe Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen, MS from pneumonia. She was born in Aberdeen on July 30, 1920. She is the daughter of Cummings West and Willie Buckingham West.
Although Julie attended school up to the 4th grade, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Mother Wisdom. She worked as a farm hand and housekeeper until she later married and settled into being a faithful housewife. She was a loyal lifetime cornerstone member of St. Paul Church, where she served on the Mother Board, Usher Board, Kitchen Attendant, Choir Member, and Secretary. She was known for cooking for her entire community and church family! She enjoyed family life, visiting family and friends, fishing, gardening, being a caregiver, and doing yard work.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Spratt, 2 sons: Hosea West and Dalloyd West, 1 brother, Richard Freeman, 2 grandchildren: LaDonna Kay Commey and Patrick Edmondson.
Julie leaves to mourn: 2 daughters, Willa Moore (Sanford) of Rochester, NY and Anna Dobbs of Aberdeen, MS; 2 sons, Willie Anderson West (Vicki) of Aberdeen, MS and Frank Spratt (Charmin) of Sacramento, CA; 1 sister, Fannie Westbrook of Aberdeen, MS. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 57 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
